Midwifery

A medical sub discipline known as midwifery focuses on women’s sexual and reproductive health as well as pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care. Professionals with training in midwifery assist women during labour, delivery and postpartum care. There are four different sorts of midwives, depending on their level of training: lay midwives, certified professional midwives, certified nurse midwives and certified midwives.

Courses in midwifery offer a thorough understanding of the complex pregnancy, childbirth, and emotional, physical, and social facets of health. The study programmes mix academic assignments, lectures, and seminars with hands-on training in clinical settings to impart theoretical knowledge.

Degree in midwifery can teach you more than just how to deliver babies. Additionally, it teaches students how to support families and how to support expectant moms during pregnancy, labour, and the postpartum period. Students obtaining a degree in midwifery will comprehend a mother’s psychological, physical, cultural and financial needs and be able to meet them. They will have an effect on the patient’s life as well as the larger field of public health.
