Goldsmith

A goldsmith is a metalworker who primarily works with gold and a few other precious metals. Jewellery production has been one of the key specialised areas for goldsmiths, and it is also a very time-consuming process that requires at least six professionals. They also make cutlery, platters, goblets, ornamental and functional cutlery, and ceremonial or religious things. Goldsmiths and jewellers do share a few common jobs, such as repairing and creating rings, brooches, pendants, and bracelets using precision cutting, sawing, filing, and polishing tools.

Goldsmiths provide services such as repairing and engraving not only jewels but also timepieces. They also enlarge or reduce ring sizes, rearrange stones, replace broken sections like as holders and supporters, bend metals to a new design, and mix or solder diverse parts together into one piece. Pliers, files, saws, hammers, torches, soldering irons, chemical and polishing compounds, and a jeweller's rouge are all important instruments for a goldsmith's work.
