Education System

The Swedish Education System is well known for its world-class ratings. Hence, students who wish to pursue their studies in Sweden have the opportunity of studying at one of the best universities in the world. Furthermore, apart from Stockholm, Swedish cities such as Uppsala and Lund attract the highest number of students worldwide.

These universities emphasise student-centred learning and encourage students to participate in their education actively. Lectures and seminars are the primary methods of instruction, often supplemented by group work, self-study and hands-on practice.

Learning Swedish is optional for international students since English is the most commonly used language. This makes for a comfortable and pleasant stay for most students. However, familiarising oneself with the language will definitely benefit students with all the opportunities that the country has to offer.

Fee Range

Free education is offered in schools and universities nationwide for European and Swiss students. However, students from other countries do not have this option and must pay a slightly higher tuition fee. For example, the tuition fee in Sweden ranges from about 80,000 Swedish kronor, which is about 7,915 Euros, to 295,000 Swedish kronor or approximately 29,188 Euros per year.

PG courses can be more expensive than UG courses, and although education in Sweden may be costly, the country offers wealthy and successful career opportunities. This in itself is a good reason for students to consider studying here.

As students are allowed to work part-time every week for a certain period, it is essential to remember that they must spend at least 40 hours a week studying to avoid any impact on their academic performance. Concerns about academic performance can lead to issues with extending a residence Visa.
