Visa

International students not from the European Union or EFTA countries are required to obtain a student visa before entering Italy.

Depending on the duration of the study program, there are two types of student visas in Italy:

  • Visa type C – Short stay visa or travel visa valid for one or more entries and for a period not exceeding 90 days. This type allows enrolment in the country's short-term courses (language courses).
  • Visa type D – Long stay visa valid for more than 90 days. This type of visa allows enrolment in college and university courses taught for 20 hours per week and 80 hours per month.

Requirements

The applicant must:

  • Be a Non-EU student at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a clean criminal record.
  • Have a valid passport.
  • Have a valid flight ticket when applying for a visa.
  • Not been declined entry into the country in previous applications.
