The University of Buckingham is the oldest independent University in Britain. It had a humble beginning when in 1973 a site was picked in Buckingham for the incorporation of the University College of Buckingham (UCB). The University was a non-profit making company registered as an educational charity and started out with just 65 students.

Today, the University of Buckingham is one of the finest educational institutes in the UK. Its reputation crosses the national boundaries and it has also made a name for itself globally. The University of Buckingham paved the way for the 2-year degree programmes, and was one of the first Universities to introduce the system.

The students at the University of Buckingham are highly encouraged to engage in physical activity to keep a balanced check between physical health and academics.
