Later on, in 1970, Leeds Polytechnic was founded as part of the Leeds Local Education Authority. It finally became a self-governed Higher Education Corporation in 1989 and attained university status in 1992. The University is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.

  • Eric Pickles, a British politician who had served as an MP for Brentwood and Ongar for 25 years. He was nominated as the chairman of the Conservative Party for a year and is now the chairman of Conservative Friends of Israel in the House of Lords. 
  • Charles Richard Wilson, an English singer-songwriter and frontman of the band Kaiser Chiefs. He has helped in coaching vocalists from “The Voice UK” and had won twice during the fourth and fifth seasons of the same competition. He was the only coach to win for two consecutive years.
  • Leslie “Les” Manfield, a Welsh rugby international athlete who was the oldest living player to play as the offense for Wales.
