About

Brunel University London based in Uxbridge, in the northwest of London, is a forward-thinking institution. It is one of the most innovative universities in the UK, with a strong focus on employability after graduation.

Founded in 1957 as Acton Technical College, it was later split into two colleges, Acton Technical College for technicians only and Brunel College of Technology for education and chartered engineers. In 1960, the Brunel College of Technology was classified as a College of Advanced Technology, and in 1962, the Brunel College of Advanced Technology was formally founded. In June 1966, the former was given a royal charter and became Brunel University.

The secure and single campus of the University contains many academic buildings as well as student housing. Brunel Law School is housed in the Elliott Jaques building, while the Civil Engineering Research Centre and the Lecture Centre are housed in the Joseph Lowe building. The Health and Life Science units, labs, offices, and other departments are located in the Heinz Wolff building. The gym, practice space, resource room, and other new amenities are housed in the Mary Seacole Building.
