Human Resources Management
Students who have passed an Honors or a Bachelor’s degree from any University recognized by UGC with 50% or equivalent are eligible to apply for the programme. This course is also applicable to students who are awaiting their final year results, provided they present the proof of completion of Graduation degree within the duration specified by the institute.
How much does it cost:
Based on the standards of various Universities and Colleges that offer the course, the course fee may vary. However, the average course fee structure ranges from INR 3 lakhs to10 lakhs per annum.
Entrance Examinations required
It is mandatory for students opting for this course to appear in various entrance examinations like: GMAT, XAT, ATMA, CAT, MAT. The CAT Exam is conducted at over 4000 centres across 156 cities in India in the last week of November or first week of December. The result is then declared in January.
Admission and Selection
The admission procedure starts in the second week of March. Candidates have to sit for their various entrance examinations and the cumulative score is taken for the whole admission process. Students will have to undergo different processes for the selection into a University. The first step in getting into any Management Institute is taking the CAT Exam held in November or December. Once the CAT result is announced, the candidates are invited to apply for WAT/GD-PI round by each Institute on its official website. Candidates who meet the shortlist cut off have to login through their CAT IDs to submit their name and CAT score. Then after, follows the announcement of the results and the whole admission process starts with shortlisting the candidates in which interview letters are sent to selected candidates for the following three processes –Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion( GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round.
The criteria and selection of candidates is not only based on the CAT examinations and the above three mentioned rounds, but also on the basis of their academic history and diversity, gender diversity and the kind of work experience that they already possess. Therefore, the student’s composite score (total score out of 100) is calculated on the basis of various parameters so as to finalize the selection process. They are:
CAT Score- Overall percentile score obtained in CAT exam.
Graduation Score -The aggregate percentage obtained in three-year degree course or equivalent.
Class 12 Score - The aggregate percentage scored in class 12 or equivalent.
Class 10 Score - The aggregate percentage scored in class 10 or equivalent.
WAT/GD-PI - Each candidate's performance in WAT/GD-PI is assessed and marks are allotted accordingly.
Academic Diversity - Candidates from non-engineering background are given extra points to ensure fair representation of students from other streams. The points for academic diversity vary for each campus.
Gender Diversity - Extra points are given to female/transgender candidates so to encourage fair representation of each gender.
Work Experience – Extra points are also given to candidates having any kind of work experience.
The AICTE has announced that the 2020 academic session will start from August 1 and has instructed B-schools to complete admission process by July 31.
